  • Do I need to buy a meal plan?

All full-time students taking 9 or more credit hours on the Belknap Campus are required to have a meal plan. Students living on campus are required to have one of the on-campus meal plans. Off-campus students are required to have any of the commuter options or at least the Base Flex Plan. Every student will be automatically enrolled in the standard meal plan depending on where you live. The standard plan will cover the very basic dining needs and can be upgraded to fit all your dining needs. You may change your plan from the standard plan by completing the Meal Plan Change Form available online at louisville.edu/cardinalcard.
  • Will my meal plan auto renew for next semester?

Your meal plan will reset to the standard plan each semester.  Meal plan changes are accepted online at louisville.edu/cardinalcard during the following periods:
    Fall Semester:  April - August
    Spring Semester: November - January

  • Will unused meals or Flex Points roll over?

Unused meals on the block meal plans expire at the end of each semester. Any missed meals on the 5 and 5 Plus Plans during the week expire at the end of the week. Unused Flex Points will carry forward from the fall to spring semester but will expire at the end of the academic year in the spring.

  • If I have already purchased a meal plan, can I change it?

Yes.  Changes may be made online by completing the Meal Plan Change Form at  louisville.edu/cardinalcard . Changes for the Fall 2018 semester must be made by August 30, 2018 and changes for the Spring 2019 semester must be made by January 17, 2019.

Don’t worry - simplicity and convenience are all within reach. Once you have a meal plan, your student ID works like a debit card. Just swipe your card and the meals and points are deducted from your meal plan account.
